Emil Millán de la Oliva wins the men’s half marathon

At the Sport Schuster Halbmarathon by Brooks, the race to watch was German marathon champion Tom Thurley and his Munich Athletics club mate and national runner-up Erik Hille taking on Swedish champion Emil Millán de la Oliva.

Settled early at the front

Millán de la Oliva took the win in 1:03:23 hours. He was already well clear of his pursuers after five kilometres and extended his lead as the race went on.

A close fight for second

Behind him, it was tighter. Hannes Burger moved past Tom Thurley after the 10 km mark and finished second in 1:04:58 hours. Thurley took third in 1:05:33 hours. Erik Hille came fifth in 1:06:50 hours.
