Nina Reuter defends her title

MAKE IT YOURS. RUN MUNICH.
Nina Reuter has won the women’s marathon at the MARATHON MÜNCHEN by Brooks for the second year running. She crossed the line at the Olympic Lake in 2:32:01 hours, more than five minutes clear of the field.
A race she took control of bit by bit
Ahead of the start, the matchup between the defending champion and the two European Championship runners Hanna Lindholm from Sweden and Katharina Saathoff had been the one to watch. Reuter settled the question early. As the race went on she pulled away from her pursuers and extended the gap all the way to the finish.
Katharina Saathoff came second in 2:37:17 hours. Third place went to Kirsten De Baey-Ruzin in 2:39:18 hours, which put the entire marathon podium in German hands.
Bavarian champion from Munich
The Sport Schuster Halbmarathon by Brooks and the 10 KM Run also saw international fields produce fast times and close racing.
De Baey-Ruzin of MUNICH ATHLETICS also took the women’s title at the Bavarian Marathon Championships with her time, held as part of the MARATHON MÜNCHEN by Brooks.
