Kathrine Højgaard takes a commanding win in the women’s half marathon

Denmark’s Kathrine Højgaard has won the women’s race at the Sport Schuster Halbmarathon by Brooks. She crossed the line first in 1:18:03 hours.

Out in front early

Højgaard pulled away from her rivals in the opening kilometres and kept extending her lead all the way to the finish. At the front, the win was settled early.

Eight seconds decide second place

Behind her, it was far tighter. Laura Schön finished in 1:21:05 hours, holding off Lena Ritzel by just eight seconds. Ritzel took third in 1:21:13 hours.
