International class meets Germany’s marathon elite

MAKE IT YOURS. RUN MUNICH.
On October 11, international top athletes will take on Germany’s marathon elite. The women’s field in particular promises excitement, and the men’s race over 42.195 kilometers will be significant as well.
Women: Nina Reuter faces international competition
Nina Reuter (Frankfurt Athletics) won the women’s race at the Marathon München by Brooks in October 2025 with a time of 2:31:33. The 27-year-old enters the race with a marathon personal best of 2:29:30, set in Düsseldorf in April 2026. Now last year’s champion returns to the Isar to defend her title.
Reuter will face two fellow competitors from the 2026 European Championships in Birmingham: Sweden’s Hanna Lindholm (Eskilstuna FI) and Katharina Saathoff (Braunschweiger LC). Lindholm finished 25th there, Saathoff crossed the line in 32nd. Saathoff brings a personal best of 2:30:52, set in Hanover. Lindholm ran her personal best of 2:28:59 in Seville on February 23, 2020.
Men: Three international challengers
In the men’s race, Ethiopia’s Alazar Terefa heads the entry list with 2:11:52. Kenyans Hosea Tuwei (2:12:39) and Daniel Lauren (2:14:30) will challenge him.
The national title is also at stake over the 42.195 kilometers: the Bavarian Marathon Championships will be held as part of the MARATHON MÜNCHEN by Brooks.
