Registration takes place online from 13 November 2025 via the official registration platform of the MARATHON MÜNCHEN by Brooks. After registering, you will receive an official confirmation of registration by email. Registration is open until 27 September 2026. Bib & Runner's Bag

Bib pickup Friday to Sunday, 9 – 11 October 2026 Location: Olympiahalle Friday: 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm Saturday: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm Sunday: 7:00 am – 8:00 am (only in urgent cases) Pop-up bib pickup at Sporthaus Schuster Monday to Thursday, 5 – 8 October 2026 Location: Sporthaus Schuster, 6th floor, Rosenstraße 1 – 5, 80331 Munich Time: 10:00 am – 7:30 pm The pop-up bib pickup is an additional service with very limited capacity. Booking a time slot in advance via Eventbrite is mandatory. Your bib can only be collected within your booked time slot – spontaneous pickup is not possible. For personal pickup, a valid photo ID and your confirmation of participation are required. Alternatively, pickup by an authorised person is possible. This requires a written authorisation and an ID document of the authorised person. Contents of the Runner’s Bag In 2026, marathon runners will also receive an exclusive Signature Runners Bag with special extras. You will receive your shirt together with your race documents at the bib pickup at Sport Schuster, or you can collect it directly at the Olympiahalle with your voucher.

Getting there

By public transport Underground: U3/U8 to the stop “Olympiazentrum” Tram: line 20/21 to the stop “Olympiapark West” (+ approx. 10 min walk) Please note:  Plan your journey in advance and check the current timetables and any route changes on the MVG website or in the MVG Fahrinfo app. By bike Additional bicycle parking is available in the Olympic Park. From 8:00 am, there may be restrictions due to the course – please follow the signs, diversions and instructions of the staff on site. Please note: Cycling is not permitted on Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz during the entire event period. By car Access is possible from all directions via the “Mittlerer Ring” (A8, A9, A92, A94, A96 and A99). Follow the signs for “Olympiapark”. Parking is limited. Question 5

Changing rooms & clothes drop-off

Clothes drop-off On Sunday, you can safely store your change of clothes in the Olympic Park or in the Werksviertel so that you can freshen up right after the race. At the bib pickup, you will receive your Runner’s Bag for safely storing your change of clothes, along with a sticker for labelling. Please hand it in at the designated area in the Olympiahalle or in the Werksviertel. The drop-off stations are organised by bib number ranges. Please write your bib number clearly on the sticker and attach it visibly to the designated field on the Runner’s Bag.  Changing facilities Want to change before the start or after the race? Changing facilities are available for you. In the Olympic Park, you will find the changing rooms in the Olympiahalle. Special luggage Want to hand in more than just your Runner’s Bag? Additional luggage can be handed in on race day for a fee of €10 at the special luggage drop-off in the Olympic Park. Please note: The organiser accepts no liability for items left at the clothes drop-off or in the changing rooms.

Bavarian Marathon Championships 2026

Accepted Answer

All runners born in 2008 or earlier can take part in the Bavarian Championships. In addition, there is a senior ranking starting from age groups M/W35.

- Men: M35, M40, M45, M50, M55, M60, M65, M70, M75+
- Women: W35, W40, W45, W50, W55, W60, W65, W70+

Registration

Select the option “Bavarian Championship” when registering.
The BLV licence number (Startpass) is mandatory: participation is only possible with a valid licence.
Please enter your name and club name exactly as stated in your licence so that you can be ranked correctly.

Rankings

Individual ranking
- In the Bavarian Championship, men and women are each ranked by order of finish (gun time), regardless of age group.
- For the Senior Championship, there is an additional ranking in all advertised age groups (M35–M75+ / W35–W70+).
Team ranking
- Three runners from the same club form a team.
- If there are six or more finishers, several teams are formed automatically (1st team, 2nd team, etc.).
- Teams are ranked by their combined total time.
- For seniors, there are additional team rankings in age group blocks (e.g. M35/40/45, M50/55, M60+).
- An age group team is only ranked if all three team members belong to or were registered for the respective age group.

Question 9

Course

Accepted Answer

The marathon starts at the Olympic Park. Via Elisabethstraße, leading into Leopoldstraße, to Sendlinger Straße. At Sendlinger Tor, the route turns around and heads back towards Leopoldstraße via Rindermarkt and Dienerstraße. Turn right into Martiusstraße and take the direct route to the English Garden. Once you have run around it, Tivolistraße, Montgelasstraße and Oberföhringer Straße take you over to Cosimastraße, and Weltenburger Straße, Trudinger Straße, Neumarkter Straße and Ampfingstraße lead you to the Werksviertel. Cross the Ludwigsbrücke to the Isartor and run one last time through the city centre towards the Siegestor. Franz-Joseph-Straße leads you to the final sprint on the way back to the Olympic Park.

Start & start waves

Start location:  Spiridon-Louis-Ring in the Olympic ParkStart time: 9:00 am, staggered in several start waves (assigned according to your estimated finish time) Important information for the start area Access: Only with an official bib showing your personal start time and start wave. Clothing: Clothing left behind in the start area will be collected and donated to a charitable organisation. Changing start waves: You can only move to a start wave with a later start time. You can simply join it on site – no re-registration is necessary. Access to the start waves is controlled. Please arrive in good time so that you can start your race relaxed.

Question 11

Bib

Accepted Answer

Only participants with an official and valid bib are allowed to take part in the race. It must be attached with safety pins at chest height on the front and be clearly visible.
The bib is personalised and non-transferable. Any alteration or covering of text or sponsor logos will result in disqualification. Runners without a bib will be removed from the course.

You do not need to return your bib after the race. You can take it home as a souvenir.

Question 12

Timing, ranking & tracking

Timing Timing is done via the RFID transponder / MikaTag integrated into your personal bib. For relay teams, the chip is located in the relay baton. Please roll it up according to the instructions before the race and hand it over to your team members at the exchange zones. Ranking For the official results, only runners who properly cross the start and finish lines as well as all timing mats along the course are counted. Your effective running time (“net time”) is used for the ranking. The first 10 finishers (women and men) are ranked by gun time and marked accordingly in the results list. The race is measured and certified according to the official regulations of the DLV and WA. The course is eligible for rankings and recognised for records.  The race is an official Age Group Qualifier Race for the Abbott World Marathon Majors Age Group World Championships. Live tracking With our event and tracking app, you stay fully informed and connected – before, during and after the race. The app offers: Live tracking of your performance and position on the course Real-time updates on your progress and your finish time Information on the course, refreshment stations and exchange zones Push notifications with important information about the event The opportunity to be cheered on by friends and family Whether you are running yourself or supporting someone – the app provides guidance, motivation and an all-round great feeling on race day.

Pacemaker

Target times: 3:00 hrs, 3:15 hrs, 3:30 hrs, 3:45 hrs, 4:00 hrs, 4:15 hrs, 4:30 hrs, 4:45 hrs and 5:00 hrs Position: The pacemakers position themselves in the designated start groups according to their target time. Recognisability: Each pacemaker carries a Suunto flag showing their target time.

Refreshments on the course

To keep you fuelled during the race, the course is equipped with several refreshment and water stations. There you can refuel with water, Hydraid electrolyte drinks and snacks to power through your race with full energy.

In addition, there is Red Bull Schorle at KM 10.5, 31.5 and 37 and Cola at KM 39.5:

Personal supplies

Accepted Answer

You can hand in your personal supplies in advance, which the organiser will provide at the refreshment stations. Running with a hydration vest is generally permitted.

Personal supplies can only be handed in under the following conditions:

For runners with a target time of up to 3:30 hours
For medical reasons
Due to allergies

Requirements for personal supplies:

Only plastic bottles are allowed.
Your supplies must be labelled with the kilometre of the refreshment station and your bib number. You can find the kilometre points under “Refreshments on the course”.
Your bottles will be placed on a separate table at the beginning of the refreshment stations.
You can hand in your personal supplies at the Service Desk at the bib pickup on Friday, 9 October 2026, from 1 pm – 7 pm, on Saturday, 10 October 2026, from 10 am – 6 pm or on Sunday, 11 October 2026, from 7:00 am – 7:30 am.

The organiser accepts no liability for loss of or damage to personal supplies. Take advantage of this service to stay optimally fuelled and perform at your best.

Toilets

Mobile toilets are available in the start & finish area and at all refreshment / water stations. Before the start in the Olympic Park, the toilets in the Olympiahalle can be used. Sanitary facilities and mobile toilets are available in the start area in the Werksviertel.

Finish & cut-off times

Finish: Willi-Daume-Platz at the Olympic Lake Exceeding the time limit: The official cut-off time of the event applies – not your own estimated finish time. If you exceed the event’s time limit, you must continue the race on the pavement. Traffic regulations: Road closures only apply during the official race times. Time limits: The event’s official cut-off times along the course must be met (not your own estimated finish time). The limit is indicated by a closing vehicle. At the finish in the Olympic Park, a rich selection of refreshments awaits you, so that you can regain your strength after your successful run and reward yourself for your performance.

You can expect:

Savoury & sweet: pretzel sticks and cake

Please note: Access to the finish catering is only possible once. Take this moment to recover and refuel sufficiently before you leave the area.

Medal & award ceremony

Every finisher receives a finisher medal at the finish. Give your achievement the finishing touch – with a personal engraving of your name and finish time.

The award ceremony for the first three finishers (women and men)

takes place on the Charivari stage on Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz

Marathon relay: 1:10 pm
10 KM Run: 2:45 pm

The Bavarian marathon champions will be honoured by the Bavarian Athletics Association (BLV) on the award stage on Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz (opposite the Charivari stage), starting at 2:15 pm.

The results lists and certificates are available for download and printing immediately after you cross the finish line at www.marathonmuenchen.org or in the MARATHON MÜNCHEN by Brooks app.

Certificates cannot be sent by post.

Changing rooms & showers

Accepted Answer

Proper recovery is essential after crossing the finish line. In the Olympic Park, changing rooms, showers and physiotherapists are available. Here you can freshen up and recharge before celebrating your achievement.

Showers

Location: Olympiaschwimmhalle (Olympic Swimming Hall)
Time: 11 am – 5 pm
Access: Free with your bib as entry pass. The entrance is located between the entrance to the Olympiaschwimmhalle and the east entrance of the Große Olympiahalle.

Take the opportunity to refresh yourself and finish your race with a good feeling.

Changing facilities

Want to change before the start or after the race? Changing facilities are available for you. In the Olympic Park, you will find the changing rooms in the Olympiahalle.

Physiotherapy for tired muscles  After showering, physiotherapists are available to support your recovery. A relaxing treatment can help relieve tension and relax your body.  Location: Olympiaschwimmhalle (Olympic Swimming Hall) Access: Free with your bib as entry pass at the main entrance of the Olympiaschwimmhalle. Note: For hygiene reasons, a shower is required before the treatment. Treat yourself to this service to relax your muscles as well as possible and recover faster.

Sustainability is close to our hearts. That is why we rely on environmentally friendly measures to make the MARATHON MÜNCHEN by Brooks as resource-efficient as possible. You can contribute too!

Green on the move – use public transport

Clean course – please dispose of waste properly

Refreshment stations: Please throw used cups and packaging into the bins provided directly behind the refreshment stations.
Finish area: Here, too, there are separate containers for waste and for reusable cups from the finish catering so that they can be reused.

Doing good – donate instead of throwing away

We donate leftover food from the refreshment stations and the finish area to charitable organisations.
Clothing left behind in the start area is collected and passed on to people in need.

Your health comes first. To enjoy the race safely, you should listen to your body and avoid possible risks.

Before the race – don’t forget your health check

It is recommended to have a sports medical check-up once a year to check your physical fitness.

If you are unsure whether you can start, seek medical advice.

During the race – watch out for warning signs

React to unusual discomfort or warning signs from your body.

If in doubt, it is better to stop the race to avoid damage to your health.

When starting is not recommended:

If you have acute infections or health problems, you should not take part.

This recommendation applies to all distances and disciplines.

Be mindful of your body – a healthy finish is the most important goal.
