MAKE IT YOURS. RUN MUNICH.

More than 40,000 runners will be taking part in the MARATHON MÜNCHEN by Brooks over the weekend of 11 October. It’s a huge moment for us, and it makes us incredibly happy that so many people are running through Munich with us.

Some are taking on their first marathon after months of preparation. Others are coming for the half marathon, the 10 KM Run, or as a team in the Höffner Marathon Staffel.
Manche gehen ihren ersten Marathon an und haben monatelang darauf hingearbeitet. Andere kommen über den Halbmarathon, den 10 KM Run oder als Team bei der Höffner Marathon Staffel.

A big thank you goes to our 2,000 volunteers. You give us your time and your energy, and without you an event of this size simply wouldn’t work.

What makes Munich a special running city is the people along the course. It’s at Marienplatz, in the Werksviertel, by the English Garden and over the final metres in the Olympic Park that the hard kilometres start to feel lighter. If you’re not running on 11 October, come along, find yourself a spot and make some noise.

The Runners Festival: three days in the Olympic Park

You’ll be right in the middle of it even without a bib. From Friday to Sunday, Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz becomes the meeting point of the weekend, with live music and acts on stage across all three days. Exhibitors from sport, health and lifestyle bring new products and hands-on activities, and there are DJs, food and drink, and bib pickup for all participants.

On Friday morning the square hosts the first Munich School Run, with classes from every year group taking on 1 km and 3 km, before the festival opens at 1:00 pm. On Saturday the Dallmayr Coffee Run and the Kids Run start here, and on Sunday the award ceremonies take place on the Charivari stage. Entry is free, for participants and visitors alike.
