MAKE IT YOURS. RUN MUNICH.

The Bayerischen Leichtathletik-Verband (BLV) is expanding its cooperation with MARATHON MÜNCHEN 2026 by Brooks. In addition to the Bavarian Marathon Championships 2026, which will be held as part of the event on October 11, 2026, students from across Bavaria will now also have the unique opportunity to take part in one of Germany’s largest running events through the “Get Fit Running!” initiative (German: “Lauf dich fit!”).

“Get Fit Running!”, organized by the BLV, is a running project for children and young people that has been inspiring students in grades 1 to 10 throughout Bavaria since 2015. Over the years, the initiative has developed into a major success. Since its launch, nearly 800,000 children and young people from primary, middle, special needs, and secondary schools have participated.

As part of the new partnership, participants will also be able to take part in MARATHON MÜNCHEN by Brooks this year—specifically in the “Kids Run” on Saturday, October 10, 2026, in Munich’s Olympic Park. The event offers suitable race formats for all age groups—from a first running experience to a kids’ marathon with official timing and awards ceremony. Distances include 400 m (ages 4 to 6), 2.1 km and 4.2 km (ages 6 to 14). Official race numbers, medals, and refreshments at the finish line promise a fantastic running experience and a true marathon atmosphere for everyone.
